I found your site off of Pirate4x4 and thought I would sign up. I am originally from Corbett Oregon. Moved to Alaska in 1995. I currently live in Fairbanks and work at the fire department here. I still have family in Corbett. Use to wheel my old 1983 Toyota all over Larch Mtn and up on Mt. Hood. Made some good runs up Wildcat Mtn in the winter. Miss the old Skidder trails. Here you have to build your truck into a skidder to build the trail.
My current wheeling rig is a 1997 Dodge 1500 2 1/2 ton Rockwells, Atlas II 3.8:1, 16" Racerunner coilovers, PSC full Hydro steering, OEM spool/ ARB, ATI Procharger'd 5.9L (450-500hp), 48" Michilin XL's , Full custom suspension. No wheeling photos since last summer when I started rebuilding.
Picture from last summer before my latest build.

Its nice up here in the summers. Alot of snowmachining in the winter and build time for the trail rig. -50 sucks. I lived in Kodiak Alaska up until 2006. The winters aren't near as cold. Can't wait to get some wheeling in. Right now I am working to get Ft.Wainwright Army base to build an offroad park for the soldiers and civilians in the area. I've been in contact with a couple companies that build competition rock crawling courses.

Yes I've wheeled with Brook a couple times. A couple years ago we went to Kenai from Kodiak and stayed at his place. Good times. Brook runs Alaska4x4network.com. He still works on his rig but has more interest in hunting and snow machining now. A bunch of us are suppose to meet up this summer in Palmer and make a run with the crew from 4x4Extreme. Next winter build season will include Rear steering and swapping my springs for links and 14" coilovers.

I built the door back in 2004. I scored a wrecked Dodge 1500 for $750 and just went for it with the doors to see how they would come out. They were pretty easy to build. I gutted the windows and took tape to figure out where I wanted my lines to go. Couple cutting disk later they were cut out and ready for some plate. Its awesome riding on the trail with the windows out. Doesn't feel like your inside a vehicle.

WELCOME TO THE MADNESS 8-} !

The truck is freak'n awesome! The flat green looks to be a good choice. Can you give a bit more detail on your door windows, like how you fastened them in, sealed them, how they hold up to the weather, etc please!!!! Pics would great too.

I designed them for the cold weather with the window inserts. They work well. I have had to change out the plexyglass a couple of times due to cracking out. usually about once every year. A sheet of plexy glass cost about $40. I just tape the old window to the new sheet and use a cutting disk to trace.

That's great, thanks!

It doesn't look like you are using any kind of weather stripping. Are you sliding the top piece of the plexi into the existing window channel, and just bolting the bottom piece snug (plexi to metal)?

The weather stripping is still in the top of the opening and I slide the plexy into the window channel in the top and bolt it at the bottom. They are well secured. I have traveled 700mi at highway speeds with them and they never ratted or came loose. kept me dry during rainstorms as well.

Good to know. Rain was my biggest concern, since it doesn't really fall straight down all the time. I am going to use your idea on all four doors, and the back window.

Again thanks!!

Those are the doors i was talking about. Is Brook still running the A-arm style ford type coil setup up front with the allthread as the pivot point at the frame? Ironicly I just used my 1 1/2" threaded material on my XJs lower control arms, it was the material I had set aside for a duplicate setup on my jeep.

Brook redid his front suspension a couple years ago. He is running a true triangulated 4 link now with coilovers.
